Dr. Reynaldo R. Aquino

Born on January 21, 1972, in Alguiting, Kananga, Leyte, Dr. Reynaldo R. Aquino is a seasoned academic and public servant known for his commitment to education, research, and community empowerment. He currently resides in Sta. Fe, Leyte, where he continues to make meaningful contributions to the academic and civic landscape.
Dr. Aquino currently serves as the Campus Administrator of Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus, where he leads institutional development, academic operations, and community outreach initiatives. Before this, he served as Director of the Research and Extension Office, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the university’s research culture and extension programs, strengthening its partnerships with local communities and stakeholders.
He holds a Doctor of Public Administration from Cebu Technological University (2020), a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Southeastern Philippines (2007), and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the Visayas State College of Agriculture (now Visayas State University, 2001). A consistent achiever, Dr. Aquino graduated as valedictorian in elementary school and with honors in high school. He ranked 8th in the 2001 Board Examination for Foresters, a testament to his academic excellence.
Dr. Aquino began his teaching career in 2002 at the Southern Philippines Agribusiness and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST). He later joined the then Samar State College of Agriculture and Forestry, now Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus, where he steadily rose through the academic ranks.
Known for integrating leadership, scholarship, and public service, Dr. Aquino’s work centers on sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and inclusive education. He is a staunch advocate for translating academic research into meaningful, real-world solutions, especially in rural and underserved communities.
Outside his professional endeavors, Dr. Aquino is a devoted family man. With his deep expertise, leadership experience, and community-centered values, Dr. Aquino continues to be a vital force in advancing education and public service in the region.
