In celebration of Organic Agriculture Month 2025, the Regional Kabataang OA Quiz Bee was successfully held on October 6, 2025, at the ATI-RTC 8, VSU, Baybay City, Leyte. The event aimed to promote greater appreciation and awareness of organic agriculture among the youth.
Representing the Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) San Jorge Campus are three outstanding BS Agriculture students who showcased their knowledge and passion for sustainable agriculture: Eddie Boy Bansay, BSA 1; Clarisse Matuguina, BSA 3; and Jaica Mae Pomarca, BAT 4. Their strong performance brought pride and recognition to the university.
Guided by their dedicated coaches, Mr. Christian Lloyd Maluenda and Mrs. Gerry May Espejon, who provided consistent support and guidance throughout their preparation, the team’s hard work and commitment were evident throughout the competition. The students’ dedication and teamwork reflected their readiness to represent NwSSU at the regional level, where they stood out among participants from across Eastern Visayas.
Their participation in the Regional Kabataang OA Quiz Bee highlights NwSSU’s commitment to advancing sustainable and environment-friendly farming practices and developing young leaders in the field.
