The NwSSU-SJC, through the Extension Activity and the BSA/BAT Program, successfully assisted two beneficiariesโ€”Rosalim Agrarian Reform Cooperative and Lincoro Livestock Associationโ€”in receiving the Composting Facility for Biodegradable Waste (CFBW) equipment from the Bureau of Soils and Waste Management of the Department of Agriculture Regional Office VIII as part of its continuing extension initiatives.

This support was undertaken through the extension activities โ€œUniting Sustainable Waste for Agriculture Growth (USWAG) and Integrated Approach to Organic Crops Production and Poultryโ€ for Rosalim ARC and โ€œWaste and Building Sustainable Farms Integrating Organic Crops, Poultry, and Waste Recycling (Multidisciplinary)โ€ for Lincoro Livestock Association.

The provision of the CFBW equipment strengthens both associationsโ€™ capacity to practice sustainable waste management, enhance organic crop and poultry production, and promote environmentally responsible farming systems aligned with the programโ€™s goal of empowering community-based agricultural groups.

The university also acknowledges the invaluable assistance of the Samar Integrated Organic Agriculture Research and Development Center (SIOARDC) for facilitating linkage efforts and strengthening collaboration among partner agencies.
